Dear Parents, Students and Well-Wishers,

Greetings from Don Bosco Kohima!

I welcome you with great pleasure to Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Kohima (DBHSSK) Website, which will provide resources and information to the students and to all who wish to know about DBHSSK. The contents of the website will give you a bird’s eye view of the rich heritage that the school has to offer.

Today with the outbreak of COVID-19, our life definitely has taken a different turn; we are sailing through a turbulent sea. More than 3.5 million people across the globe are already affected by the unprecedented spread of the virus and the number is still on the increase. The world economy has crumbled, the social structure has been altered and the educational curriculum has suffered a setback. Millions of students are missing the normal course of actions in the school. They are missing the companionship of their classmates. All school curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are suspended. In other words, they are missing the thrills and spills of school life.

Responding to the particular situation caused by the pandemic and the subsequent nationwide lockdown imposed by the Government of India as safety measures, all schools, colleges & universities are exhorted to continue the learning process through various available online modes. To this effect, our school website has been modified with added features through which the students and parents can have an access to all the study materials across grades. The communication concerning Google classroom, WhatsApp group learning, twits will be done through the Students Zone page of the school website.

My dear Bosconians the school website is your companion, your classroom and your library. In it you will find everything you need as a student. The choice is yours. Seize the opportunity and make responsible choices. Remember, learning has no end; the day you stop learning is the day you stop growing. You alone will have to write your own destiny. Learn to ask questions in life; arouse in you the curiosity of a child and do not let the child in you die. Challenge yourself to excel in everything you do, never be satisfied with the minimum, Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars. Develop critical-thinking and learn through enquiry and reason and set attainable goals for yourselves. May the storms of life not disturb the course of your voyage. The school management, the staff and your parents are rallying behind you as the lighthouse. Your education is our priority. Set your sail according to the wind and face the challenge with courage.

With this noble sense of purpose may I request all staff, parents and well-wishers to join hands as we forge ahead and take DBHSSK to the next level of education to the greater heights of excellence!

Yours affectionately in Don Bosco
Fr. T.P. James SDB
